Back and neck pain treatment

Most back and neck pain we see is not an injury. It is a posture and movement pattern held for years, and it responds to being retrained.

How we approach it

Assessment first. A physiotherapist examines how you move, where the restriction sits and what is compensating for it. Treatment then combines manual therapy for the immediate restriction with therapeutic yoga to change the pattern that produced it. Where stress is holding tension in the neck and shoulders, breathing and relaxation practice is part of the plan rather than an afterthought.

What we do not claim

We treat mechanical and posture-related pain. Pain with numbness, weakness, loss of bladder control or a history of trauma needs medical imaging first, and we will say so at the consultation rather than start treatment.

Questions people ask

Is yoga safe if I already have a disc problem?

Only with supervision and only with the right practices. General yoga classes include movements that load a compromised disc. This is exactly why we assess before prescribing practice, and why our yoga therapists are also physiotherapists.

How long before I notice a difference?

That depends on how long the pattern has been held and how consistently you practise. We do not put a number on it at the first consultation, because doing so would be a guess.

Do I need a doctor referral?

No. You can book a consultation directly. If your presentation needs a medical opinion first, we will tell you at that consultation.

Where in Trivandrum are you?

A27, Jawahar Nagar, opposite Shri Thikurissy Memorial, Sasthamangalam, close to Kowdiar and Vazhuthacaud. Sessions are also available online.
