Diabetes and lifestyle conditions

A structured programme for people managing type 2 diabetes, delivered alongside your doctor's treatment plan. Not instead of it.

How we approach it

A structured plan across three fronts: yoga practice selected for your current fitness, an individual diet built around Kerala food rather than an imported meal plan, and the sleep and stress inputs that work against glycaemic control. Our centre head specialises in lifestyle disorders at both the physical and mental level, and the plan is reviewed as your readings change.

Kerala carries one of the heaviest metabolic burdens in India. The ICMR-INDIAB study found 50.3% of Kerala adults have hypercholesterolaemia, the highest of any Indian state.

What we do not claim

We do not treat diabetes and we do not adjust your medication. That is your doctor's work. Keep your prescribed treatment and your monitoring exactly as it is, and tell your doctor you have started a yoga programme so that any change is made by them.

Questions people ask

Will this let me stop my medication?

That is not a decision we make, and any centre that promises it is one to walk away from. Medication changes are made by your treating doctor on the basis of your readings.

What does the diet plan actually look like?

It is built around what is normally cooked in a Kerala household rather than around foods you would have to source specially. That is the difference between a plan you follow and a plan you abandon in two weeks.

I am not flexible and I have never exercised. Is this for me?

Yes. Practice is chosen for your current mobility. The therapeutic batch at 5 pm exists for exactly this.
