Stress, anxiety and poor sleep

Stress is rarely reported as stress. It arrives as poor sleep, a short temper, tight shoulders and a mind that will not settle at eleven at night.

How we approach it

The work here is mostly breath and relaxation, not posture. Pranayama and guided deep relaxation act directly on the stress response. Alongside that, we look at the practical inputs: when you eat, when you stop looking at screens, how the working day is structured. Our senior consultant holds an MSc in Psychology alongside her clinical qualifications, which shapes how these sessions are run.

What we do not claim

This is supportive practice. It is not psychiatric treatment and it does not replace medication or therapy you are already receiving. If you are in crisis, please contact a doctor or a mental health helpline first.

Questions people ask

Can I do this alongside medication my psychiatrist prescribed?

Yes, and you should keep taking it. Yoga therapy here is supportive practice alongside your medical treatment. Tell us what you are taking at the consultation so the plan accounts for it.

I cannot sit still or empty my mind. Will this work?

Nobody starts able to. The practices are graded so you begin with breath and physical relaxation, which are far easier entry points than being told to meditate.

Are there sessions after office hours?

Yes. The 5 pm, 6 pm and 7 pm batches run Monday to Friday, at the centre and online.
